Small Class Size

2 Teachers: 10-12 Students
With a teacher-student ratio of 1:5, River Park offers highly individualized attention. Class size is 10 students for four days a week and 11 to 12 students one day a week with a parent assisting the Director and Teaching Assistant in the classroom.

School Hours and Term

Classes are held Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The school year runs from September through May. Families may choose a schedule of 3, 4 or 5 days a week.

Experienced Staff

Ms. Bernadette Blum, the Director, and a Teaching Assistant instruct daily classes and develop program materials. Ms. Blum has been with River Park since 1997. She has a B.S. and an M.A. in Elementary Education, certification in Early Childhood Development, and is a member of PACT and NAEYC. The Teaching Assistant has experience with children and a college-level education.

Parent Involvement

Strong parent involvement is an integral part of the River Park community. The school is a co-operative, parent-run organization. The Director and Teaching Assistant are the only paid staff; all administrative duties are carried out by the parents. Parents assist with field trips, organize fundraising, and serve on the Executive Board. Parents also assist in the classroom--generally, once every three months.
